SANOOOK #thaiwithatwist FOOD REVIEW

Happiness is when you have so much fun dining with all your best friends together. Could not agree more on that...It was truly an honour to be invited for the food review session with the media at Sanoook Restaurant in Pavilion Elite, KL. Thank you so much Miera Nadhirah for the invite. I was very excited since it was my 1st food review session. Moreover, I am a sucker for Thai and Japanese cuisines. What a great combination, match made on a plate I tell you.. =D
Sanoook is inspired by their love affair with Thai and Japanese cuisine. Using secret, authentic Thai recipes from their sister restaurant Chakri Palace and adding a twist of presentation and creative culture of Japanese food, Sanoook is the first to combine these two delectable cuisines.
In Sanoook, their hope is to bring you the future of gourmet where cultures and tastes merge, creating a whole new culture of fun dining.
‘Sanook’ means ‘fun’ in Thai. Then they added another ‘O’ to represent a circle of friendship…Hence, Sanoook means having fun together with friends! How cool is that!

For your info, this is the second branch after the first one in Sunway Pyramid. Located strategically in Pavillion Elite and at the same level as the Food Republic. You can't never miss this eatery place.  Just look for the small red train hehee....

Cute funky food characters of SANOOOK on their walls hehee... Hontouni Kawaii!
My first impression of the ambiance, I was amazed by the minimalist decor with so many fancy lightings hehee... Truly an Asian restaurant with some Japanese elements. Felt so cozy immediately and I just could not wait to try their specialties. :P
Well well well, here are their TOP 10 SIGNATURES. Do check it out y'all.... Bon appetit!
APPETIZERS
Mieng Kham (RM18.90)

Mieng Kham is a traditional snack from Thailand and Laos. It was introduced to the Siamese court of King Rama V by Queen Dara Rasamee. The name "mieng kham" translates to "one bite wrap", from miang (food wrapped in leaves) and kham (a bite).

In Thailand, Mieng kham is usually eaten with family and friends. Each wrap is filled with an array of Thai flavors—hot, sour, salty, and sweet all take a turn. Ginger and chilies bring the heat, lime adds tartness, dried shrimp gives each bite a burst of salinity, and coconut and peanuts contribute sweet nuttiness. If it looks like a pile of garnishes, wait until you drizzle the assemblage with the ultra-sweet and funky sauce. Instead of fighting with the toppings, it brings everything together into a bright, refreshing bite. I`m soooo loving it!

SOUP

Thai Coconut Soup With Chicken Wonton. (RM17.90)

Honestly, this was my first time trying this kind of soup. The coconut soup tasted so creamy and a bit salty. The chicken wonton were hiding inside this creamy soup. So yummy indeed. Ideal for a cold rainy night hehee....

Phad Thai Noodles With Prawn (RM21.90)

This prawn Phad Thai Noodles is a summer cooking at its best. Not only is it delicious, but it's low in saturated fat and ready in just over half an hour. All you have to do is to mix all the ingredients together before you start to eat. Me likey it too... =D

Sushi Burgers

You can choose to have either Grilled Chicken with Green Curry Sauce (RM18.90) or Grilled Beef with Tom Yam Sauce (RM19.90). The "buns" were made from the sushi rice and the grilled chicken or beef patty was sandwiched between the sushi rice buns. The food presentation was amazing! It comes with steamed corn cob and crispy fries. The grilled chicken and  beef  patty were succulent and juciy too, cooked to perfection. I`m sure you gonna love it just as much as I did.

Skewers
When it comes to having skewers for your lunch or dinner, there were so many choices of skewers here in Sanoook. You can even choose whether to have Massaman, Green Curry, Teriyaki, Sanoook Sauce or Lime & Chili for your sauce topping. I managed to sample the juicy Beef Skewers with green curry sauce. So delicious I tell you! The portion is enough for 2 person. (RM19.90)

Sushi Rolls (6 pieces)

Sanoook Vegetarian Sushi Roll with Sesame Mayonnaise (RM20.90)

I really like these Sanook specialty. The sushi rolls were really soft and it just melt in your mouth. No kidding, I tell you! It did not taste like any typical vegetarian meals. I`m pretty sure even the kids will like it too.

Grilled Tuna Sushi Roll with Spicy Tom Yam Sauce (RM28.90)

I`m a big fan of tuna and salmon sushi roll. Therefore please forgive me for being biased here. Hehehe... The grilled tuna taste delicious and with the spicy tom yam sauce, it gived the little kick in your palate. Not too hot for me, by the way... Yikes!

Seafood Tom Yam Fried Rice. (RM22.90)

For me, the presentation was amazing, totally spot on! Love love the giant spoon. However, the tom yam fried rice tasted just like any other fried rice. Nothing fancy... However, the seafood ingredients portion were generous, enough for two person.

To end your meal, I would love to recommend you to try these awesome sweet endings.

SWEET ENDINGS aka DESSERTS

Mango Sticky Rice with Ice Cream (RM16.90)

It comes with two cones of mango sticky rice. The presentation was sooo tempting although I would really love to have a bigger portion of the mango chunks, hahaa... Could not get enough of them, I have to say hehee...

Thai Volcano / Fuji Volcano (RM17.90)

These are their signature dishes. The thin shaved ice mounted just like tall volcano with the Thai iced tea and all the lovely biscuits, mini breads and almond flakes. For the Fuji Volcano, they served a generous amount of Thai Green Tea in the form of a volcano. The sweetness was just nice for me and I would prefer to have the Fuji Volcano over the Thai Volcano. I`m a Matcha freak, any way heheee...

As for the drinks, I just had Thai iced tea, their recommended drink.
